Second Marathon Day 1
On this first day, the tracks will sometimes be rocky and treacherous, requiring both speed and composure during the numerous changes of pace.
Liaison > 122 km
Special > 410 km
At the end of the special stage, a beautiful dune crossing will offer a foretaste of whatâs to come. And as in the first week, this marathon session will take place on separate courses for the FIM and FIA categories, and the bivouacs/shelters will once again be minimalist.

WADI AD DAWASIR â Team De Rooy FPT delivered another outstanding performance Tuesday at the Dakar Rally. The Son-based Dutch truck squad scored their third one-two finish of the rally in Stage 9.
Ales Loprais took the win, with teammate Vaidotas Zala close behind. Both Iveco trucks reached the temporary bivouac at the end of Part 1 of the second marathon stage without any significant issues.

The quick duo had previously swept the top two spots in Stages 6 and 7 as well. Zala also gained ground on overall leader Mitchel van den Brink, who finished third on the stage. The Lithuanian held onto second place in the standings, cutting the gap to the Dutchman by 3:11 to 35:12.

Four stages left to run.
One-Two Carries Extra Weight The De Rooy FPT one-two meant even more due to troubles for Martin MacÃk. The two-time Dakar winner continued to deal with the aftermath of yesterday’s crash, when his truck landed touched Loprais’s Red Dragon. Mechanical gremlins sidelined the Czech.
As a result, Loprais moved into third place overall, taking over the position from his countryman. Wednesday brings Part 2 of the second marathon stage, with Team De Rooy FPT facing a 420-kilometer route featuring a 368-kilometer special. The finish is in Bisha
