Boss Machinery Team De Rooy
starts in Morocco Desert Challenge

The composition in the cabin is the same as that of the last Dakar rally. Sitting next to Van Kasteren is mechanic and three-time Dakar winner Darek Rodewald. Navigating is in the trusted hands of Marcel Snijders.
Last night’s briefing warned of the course on which overtaking would be very difficult. The trio in the Iveco Powerstar with start number 503 did not need to catch up this time to win. βThe other two were wrong.β Thus a relaxed Van Kasteren.

This daily result does not have much meaning yet. It determines βonlyβ the starting order for tomorrow. Then Janus, Marcel and Darek expect a lot of stones. Van Kasteren about this: βThis is now my ninth rally here and day two they have always put all the stones on the path in Morocco. So tomorrow it will be saving tires. High pressure in the tires and hope you don’t get a few punctures.β The team hopes to get through tomorrow’s day well and is looking forward to the rally with great confidence.

The Morocco Desert Challenge will continue for the next week and the finish will be in Merzouga on Sunday, April 30. On the website of the organization there is the possibility to follow the match through live tracking.
