Becx Competition Team de Rooy FPT
Michiel Becx, navigator Edwin Kuijpers and mechanic Wuf van Ginkel, became the proud winner and Janus van Kasteren won the FIA world title.
After the fantastic rally for Becx, Kuijpers and Van Ginkel, there was another two days of training in the dunes of Merzouga. With Janus van Kasteren as coach, Becx has taken the opportunity to gain maximum experience in the dunes.
Ladies Team de Rooy FPT
The All Ladies Team De Rooy FPT also impressed. Anja van Loon started for the first time with an all-women team in a newly built truck.
Van Loon made big steps during the rally. Not only in terms of useful driving experiences and cooperation in the cab, but also in terms of truck setup. These are all valuable things that help ensure successful participation in the Dakar Rally.
The Iveco Powerstar in which Anja van Loon drove with navigator Floor Maten and mechanic Marije van Ettekoven, performed well technically. Because the truck has been lying on its side in the dunes, there is cosmetic damage that will have to be repaired.
Just like Van Loon’s truck, the truck with which Becx Competition Team De Rooy FPT became a surprise winner has been carefully subjected to a technical inspection. No details emerged.
Boss Machinery Team de Rooy FPT
Janus van Kasteren suffered from chassis problems on the last day. Together with navigator Marcel Snyders and mechanic Darek Rodewald, the FIA world title was secured for the Boss Machinery Team De Rooy FPT team.
The Iveco Powerstar of the fresh world champion will have a different chassis. Still a big job, but under the leadership of Corné van Drunen, the fantastic mechanics of Team De Rooy will roll up their sleeves to get the three trucks in optimal shape at the start of the Dakar rally.
